We've teamed up with womenswear designer Peju Obasa to bring you the Ore Top - an asymmetric design knitted in stocking stitch with delicate eyelets tracing the edges and seams. An adjustable ruched side tie creates a flattering, customisable fit.

 

The top is worked flat in two pieces and joined together. A tubular trim is knitted on the right side seam, where an I-cord can then be knitted and inserted into the trim. There is a full tutorial for finishing and seaming linked in the pattern. 

 

This pattern provides easy-to-follow detailed instructions using the following techniques: 

Long tail cast on, knit, purl, knitting flat, decreasing, increasing, yarn over, cable cast on, cast off, picking up stitches, invisible seaming, folded cast off, I-cord.

Skill Level: Easy-Intermediate. 

 

Sizing: 8 sizes (XS-4X) see size guide. Alice wears size 2 (S).

 

Yarn: Sport weight yarn with approx 150m per 50g.

You will need approx. 220g/660m [230g/690m, 286g/858m, 324g/972m, 350g/1050m, 392g/1176m, 435g/1305m, 465g/1395m]. 

 

For the Lilac top, we used: 

5 [5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9, 10] balls of Majo Garn Sunny Linen - 50% Linen, 27% Baby Alpaca, 18% Cotton, and 5% Fine Merino Wool. (150m/164yds per 50g ball.) This fibre mix creates a softer fabric drape.

 

For the pink top, we used Drops Safran in Raspberry, and for the grey top, we used Onion Organic Cotton in 118. Using cotton creates a more structured drape.

 

Other yarn suggestions: Hjertegarn New Arezzo, BC Garn Summer in Kashmir GOTS or Alba, Go Handmade Tencel Bamboo Double.

 

Suggested Needles: 

3mm/US 2.5 knitting needles.

3.5mm/US 4 circular knitting needles, length 60-80cm/24-32''. You will be knitting flat, but the length of a circular needle is needed.

 

Gauge:  Stocking Stitch using 3.5mm/US 4 knitting needles:

10cm/4'' x 10cm/4'' = 25sts x 34 rows
